Watershed Studios is a contemporary residency and gallery on the edge of the Connemara coast. We host international artists whose work responds to the light, salt, and silence of the west of Ireland. Every work here is by a Watershed artist, made during their stay or in the years since, and is offered for purchase or showcased.

Oil painting with Grace O'Malley.
A three-hour oil painting class led by the founder of Watershed Studios, held at the studio in Bushy Park, Galway. Basic materials are provided, though you are welcome to bring your own supplies. All levels welcome. Running Saturdays 5, 12, 19 and 26 September 2026, 11:00–14:00, at €55 per class.

A self-directed coastal residency.
Founded in 2018, Watershed Studios gives artists a dedicated space to detach from the acceleration of urban life. The residency is self-directed: no set curriculum and no imposed outcome, so each artist can follow the work where it needs to go.
Residents live on-site in cottages, sharing a communal studios while maintaining private studio spaces overlooking the Corrib River.
